Executive Officer - Registration- Updated documents 20 June 2017
The Teaching Council is the professional standards body for teaching in Ireland. Its core aim is to promote and regulate the profession of teaching. Currently, there are over 95,000 primary, post-primary and further education teachers registered with the Council. The Council’s offices are based in Maynooth Business Campus, Maynooth, Co. Kildare.
Executive Officers (EOs) play a vital part in supervising and delivering a range of services on behalf of the Council. EOs are in charge of sub-sections within the main organisational structure of Registration; Teacher Learning & Research; Professional Standards (Fitness to Teach) and Corporate Services. Vacancies have arisen for EOs in the Council’s Registration Section (including Garda vetting) to which the Council is seeking to appoint suitable candidates.
The Teaching Council is now inviting applications for an Executive Officer – Registration. The appointed EO will report either to a Higher Executive Officer or directly to the Registration Officer and will be a member of the registration operational team.
Please note that the documents below have been updated to take account of an amendment to the education qualification criteria.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 5 p.m. 7 July 2017
