Section 1: Your details

You will be asked to provide the following details:

  • Your name
  • Teaching Council registration number
  • Your current position e.g. class teacher, special education teacher etc.
  • Your email
  • Your phone number

Section 2: Lead school information

You will be asked to confirm that you understand you are making the application on behalf of the lead school, and that if successful, payment will be made to the school’s bank account.

You will be asked to provide the following details:

  • School name
  • School address
  • School roll number
  • Type of school (e.g. primary, post-primary, special school, FE college etc.)
  • School profile (e.g. mainstream, Gaelscoil, DEIS etc.)
  • Principal’s name
  • Principal’s email
  • Principal’s phone number

Section 3: Bursary Request

You will be asked to select the bursary amount you are applying for:

  • €2,000 – Professional learning activities involving two schools
  • €3,000 – Cross-sectoral professional learning activities involving two or more schools
  • €5,000 – Cross-sectoral professional learning activities involving three or more schools

Section 4: Collaborating School Information

You will be asked to provide the following details for each school you are collaborating with:

  • School name and address
  • School roll number
  • Principal’s name
  • Principal’s email
  • Principal’s phone number

You will be asked to confirm that you understand that the Principal(s) is aware of and supports your application, and that the Teaching Council may contact them for verification purposes.

Please note, consent for the application must be sought from the Principal, Deputy Principal or equivalent of all collaborating schools before the application is submitted

Section 5: Proposed Activities

You will be asked the following questions about your proposed activities:

 

Provide a detailed description of the proposed activities and a proposed timeline.  Make sure to include 

  • Information on how these activities align with the goals of the bursary
  • Information on the collaboration between the schools mentioned in this application
  • Information on any additional collaboration e.g. with a higher education institute or a local education support centre etc.

(Max 500 words)

 

Select the area(s) that best describe your proposed activities:

  • Forming professional learning communities with other schools
  • Hosting workshops/events for teachers from different schools
  • Inviting a speaker to deliver an information session or workshop
  • Organising a joint professional development event/programme
  • Organising a lesson study with another school/schools

 

Select the theme(s) your application is based on:

  • Inclusive practice
  • Teaching of Gaeilge
  • Leadership and professional relationships
  • Wellbeing
  • Alignment with a named Teaching Council policy or Department of Education Policy or strategy

 

Describe the aims and objectives of your proposed professional learning activities (Max 100 words)

 

What impact do you expect the proposed activities to have on the professional learning of staff and schools involved? (Max 500 words)

 

Are your proposed professional learning activities already in receipt of (or have they previously been in receipt of) funding from another bursary scheme/grant etc?

Section 6: Budget Breakdown

You will be asked to:

Provide a clear and detailed budget breakdown, including all anticipated expenses. This should include a breakdown of:

  • Budget items
  • Description of each budget item
  • Cost
  • Additional information as necessary

You will be advised that bursary recipients will be required to submit a broad overview of how the bursary was spent. This overview of spending must be submitted before July 2025.

Section 7: Digital Asset Creation

You will be asked the following questions about your digital asset:

Select the type of digital asset(s) you plan to create to showcase your activity:

  • A number of photographs showcasing the professional learning activities in action
  • Video reflection
  • Digital artefact (e.g. T-REX byte or a padlet)
  • Poster
  • Other

 

Provide a brief description of what your digital asset will demonstrate about the professional learning activities and their impact (Max 150 words)

Section 8: Final Confirmation

You will be asked to confirm that:

  • All information provided in the application is accurate and complete
  • I understand that if successful, I must use the funds as outlined in my application, and agree to submit a broad budget overview
  • If successful, I agree to submit a digital assert, a short written reflection, and participate in a feedback survey
