Complaints Procedure

There may be times when we do not meet your expectations and you may wish to make a complaint. In these cases, we will be happy to investigate the matter with the aim of finding a resolution.

Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 2014 (FOI Act) offers you access on request to records held by the Teaching Council.

Publication Scheme

This Publication Scheme facilitates the provision of information outside of Freedom of Information (provided that such publication or giving of access is not prohibited by law).

Access to Information on the Environment (AIE)

The European Communities (Access to Information on the Environment) Regulations 2007 (S.I. 133 of 2007), gives legal rights to those seeking access to information on the environment from public authorities.

Open Data and the Re-Use of Public Sector Information

In line with the 2021 Regulations the Teaching Council is committed to complying with its obligations to release our data in free and open formats to the public.

Registration Review Process

The Review of Decision process is the Teaching Council’s internal review mechanism. Applicants can avail of this when registration has been refused or when registration conditions have been imposed by the Primary/Post-Primary Applications Panel, or the Evidence of Character Panel.
